Naomi
Jasmine

LEH Foshan"s Year 12 students recently embarked on a thrilling and educational journey to the renowned FAW-Volkswagen Foshan Factory, led by Ms Mustaeva, Form Tutor and Mrs Kirk, Head of Sixth Form. The aim is to empower students with practical knowledge, inspire their career aspirations, and broaden their understanding of the future of the automotive industry.
During the visit, our students not only gained practical knowledge but also engaged in meaningful conversations with expert engineers and key figures from a massive factory comprising 5000 employees. During their visit, the students had the opportunity to explore the entire facility, witnessing the marvels of automation in action. They also marvelled at the innovative concept of futuristic electric cars without wheels.

Our visit to FAW-Volkswagen South China New Energy Production Base was a truly enlightening experience. We toured the factory, the battery production workshop, the testing centre, and the exhibition hall. The visit was fitted for 17 years old students providing insights for career development. A knowledgeable guide provided valuable insights for the students. And it is worth mentioning that the girls truly enjoyed the food they had at lunch. We are grateful for the opportunity and excited for FAW-Volkswagen"s future contributions.
Reflecting on their experience, our students said
Naomi
Year 12
My favourite part of the trip was being able to see the concept car. The car looked like it had come out of a sci-fi film and that made me realise how rapidly technology is developing. I also like the attention to detail Volkswagen has when it comes to ensuring the safety of their customers.
Jasmine
Year 12
Visiting a car factory made me consider more about the course to study at university, and the jobs opportunities that a car company has. For example, the building of the factory, inspired me to think about the steps to make a car, and how to deal with mistakes when the line goes wrong, which gave me an idea for planning my routine. Additionally, I realised what kind of skills a company will want from an employee.
It was an unforgettable journey, and our students truly embodied the spirit of LEH Foshan as exceptional representatives. Moreover, they acquired invaluable insights into the real world, with some even venturing into uncharted territory by fixing a car together, wielding screwdrivers for the first time!
Such immersive experiences are at the heart of the A Level programme at LEH Foshan, where students are encouraged to explore, question, and engage with their subjects on a deeper level. The visit to the FAW-Volkswagen Foshan Factory highlights the remarkable enrichment opportunities available to our students to enhance their academic learning experience in profound ways. By linking academic concepts with practical experiences, we equip our students with the skills and insights necessary to excel in their future endeavours.
